Im another guy looking to get in, I have read Dave Dwinell's material and he seems to offer great information about brokering, especially in a world where the information is hard to come by. I'm just curious...isn't there any agents that have completed the program, and working for truckolicity??

Sounds like some more ######## (read that as dung from a male cow) to rip off your hard earned money for some "broker training" that will not do you any good at all in this industry. "Truckolicty"? Really!? These scammers had to rip off Travelocity? How original. Reminds me of the "Fet Ex" thread. Lol. That should be a clue, as in a big red flag clue...

What you really need is some hands on experience in the business. And probably some sort of business degree from a college. Of course it will take too much time to do it the right way, correct? And we're in a rush to get in on the easy money brokers make, right? And it isn't really about any sort of logical reason or natural business passion, inclination or any need you sense needs filling in the marketplace it is more about the money, right?

There is a sucker born every minute and there are scammers a plenty on the peripheries of transportation getting rich off of gulible, ignorant people such as yourself. Don't waste your time and money on this broker training ######## (male cow dung)!

Thanks for the rant, guess it was better than nothing lol. Atleast somebody is paying attention to me lol.
I think a college degree would help a agent in this business as much as it would help a realitor, or a loan officer. For that matter why not get a college degree to run a bulldozer or semi truck.
Maybe truckolicity is ah....."cow dung" guess that's what I'm trying to find out....is their any agents out there?

Where there's a will, there's a way. Maybe they are for real? I guess maybe I have been trucking too long and am just too cynical. I work with some brokers regularly who seem to have it going on and know wtf they are doing, which is RARE. Maybe one day I will ask one of them their actual path to brokering. Good luck with it anyways.

I was an agent for Truckalocity for a year until I got offered a manager position at a new brokerage start up. What I can tell you is that if you have no experience in brokering, taking one of his courses will give you a tremendous amount of knowledge and insight into the industry, but you'll gain more through work experience. I had no background in trucking or brokering before I took his course. I graduated with a business degree and worked in corporate management for three years but our whole department got outsourced, which was when I decided I wanted to make a career change. I took Dave's course last year and felt very satisfied with what I learned. He has the only published manual on brokering as far as I know and is often hired as an expert witness in trials involving truck/shipper claims. As an agent, all I can tell you is that the knowledge you gain from class won't translate into successful brokering without hustling. An education is good, but you'll learn and experience more by actually working the job. If you are okay with going a few months with no income and investing some money into your new career then becoming an agent is something you should consider. Be prepared to work over 10 hours a day cold calling, emailing, and marketing yourself. If you do not like the idea of going 3-6 months with no income while building your book of business, I suggest applying to bigger brokerages and working a couple of years for the experience. Just like any other industry it is your personal connections that will get you to where you want.
