    Yep, that's life.

I've tried being a car salesman a couple times.
    Didn't work out for me.

My scamming days were when I was in high school, and just for the fun of it.
It was a juvenile extra-curricular activity that I excelled at.

I think that I finally decided that being honest was more of a challenge.

Yes, being honest is, and can be a real challenge, isn't it?

I got to thinking, I have been screwed more by truckers buying junk cb radios, than anyone or anything else. I used to in days past take several months off between trucking jobs, getting rid of everything. So coming back and needing a radio, or wanting an upgrade to a junky radio, well. live and learn. The moral of the story, its just better to buy something new out of the box, than to risk getting cheated by a trucker trying to sell his junk cb radio.

When I was a student with Werner my trainer and I stopped to eat at a pilot near houston. I had been very hungry because they paid trainees a flat rate of $400 a week and after taxes on a 70hr work week that's horrible. I had just paid my rent so I literally had maybe 8 bucks left and the smell of fresh french fries was killing me so I ordered off the dollar menu and as I'm getting my food this guy asks me to buy him lunch. I hesitated but then said yes because I'd want someone to help me if I asked for it. I firmly believe in treat others the way you want to be treated. But then I saw that douche go get in his truck and light a cig and have biggest worst #### eating smile I have ever seen...he also didn't say thank you so I knew I had given my last 4 dollars to and ####### who was probably lying.

Petro Jackson Mississippi, second time there in two weeks, black guys come to the truck saying he hopes Im not racist like the last driver, and starts to tell me how his car broke, but he had the money to fix it, and has enough gas to get home, just wants a oouple bucks to get something to eat till he can get home. I said " Son you had that same problem when I was here a week ago, he shoots me a crap eating grin and moves along.

The only people who can get scammed or taken are those who are un-informed about the "product" and or are always looking to beat the system.......

    Road Ranger truck stop , I-35, exit 39, Encinal , TX .

Bought a gallon of Final Charge coolant about three months ago . Shelf price was $15.49 but it rang up at $17.99 which they promptly corrected . Bought again today and the same result which iindicates to me they've been ripping off every driver $2.50 a pop. Wonder how many dozens got scammed ?

On top of that sign said cigarettes $4.87 when you buy two packs . Nope , $5.12, for a quarter a pack ripoff . Wonder how many thousands of packs of cigarettes they sell in a week ?

Funny you mentioned that, I bought a pack of cigarettes at the fuel island at a Petro that was marked up almost 50 cents a park higher than going into the main store to buy them. I guess the extra charge was for walking them over to the fuel island.

Just one more way, they keep wanting to thank us for our business.

One kid in Jersey City off 15C had a radio to sell, a premium one in the box. The thing is about that particular stop, you stayed in groups day and night back then. So there were about 10 of us made a circle around this kid and told him, let's see the radio.

    He paled.

After a shuffle and some protest he did open box, a brick came out and that was the end of that for him.

I got to where I learned to sleep away from major cities with truckstops. A quiet mountaintop two hours drive away gave some of the best rest there is most of the time.
