I work at Sefl in Pen, I transfed from a much bigger terminal in Orlando. Are you looking to work? You will be working, getting dirty and of course sweating your ##* off. I came to Sefl from driving otr, I was eager to actually do some work but still drive. My first 2 weeks were on the dock and wow was I out of shape! ( only senior guys get the forklifts).
The Pensacola location runs a little different being its a much smaller location. If your intent is linehaul you will be waiting.. behind me.. There is no real clear rule but they want you to run p&d for a year first. HOWEVER other loacations are hiring linehaul off the street.. I am patiently waiting.
I do know that we have just lost a p&d driver last week so, if you are interested in getting your foot in the door, I'd apply. Not sure what start out pay is now, it was $20.17 in 2013. I know its higher now. Linehaul pays 58 cents a mile for sefl, ODFL starts at 58 and reaches 62 from what an OD driver told me.. R&L does not pay by the mile, not sure how they figure it up.

you don't want to be that far from your first stop when you have to wait on linehaul to get in with your freight, i have on a regular basis 12 14 16 stops on a regular day and pickups that close at three. the other day my load was ready at 10:30 with a 45 min drive to first stop. some days are just harder than others. oh yea the beauty supplies and home deliveries on dead end streets......lol

That depends on how late they'll be. I have an 8:00 start, so they cut stops from my run every day.

Not leaving until 10:30 is truly a sorry way to run a railroad.

I definitely want to get off the road and I wouldn't mind doing some dock work to start out. I only have my doubles and triples so far. I'm trying to get one endorsement each time I come home for home time.

Are you off on weekends? I'm really in no hurry to move into line haul to be honest. I just want something local and one day move Into line haul.

Yes we are off on weekends. As far as p&d goes, you need hazmat and tanker. Add double/tripples when you want linehaul.
If work is what you want then work you will get!

    Lucky1992 Thanks this.
