I got my CDL 3 years ago. I had a family emergency and quit before I was out of training. I recently am trying to get back into trucking. I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I applied to KLLM. I was contacted back but the only job I am eligible for is the Lease program. Is the lease program a good idea being a rookie are trying to be a company driver at a different company. I was told I would have to take refresher course then go on with a trainer for 6 weeks. Then continue on in to the lease program. Would anybody recommend the lease program for a new driver with no experience?

You want options? Around here, it seems Option One is giving a shout out for @Chinatown . I've never met the man. But he's a walking encyclopedia on trucking companies. I bet he'll toss you some bones.

It's kind of funny how they say that. You're not qualified to be a company driver, but you are qualified to be a lease driver.

Sounds like something that CR England or Swift would do

TransAm does that also. They will hire new drivers as company but experience drivers are tricked into a lease.

Original poster try TransAm. Tell them you will go out with trainer.
Its only 11 days of being with trainer.
    Transam does Florida loads.
They let newbies choose to be company or lease. Never lease at transam.
