You can get thru on 50 but its about the same time wise using 80. The scenic is great thru both routes 50 being best but you will to busy paying attention to the road with some of the hair pin turns.

The furthest I've ever seen trucks up 88 was at Silver Lake, they were descending the hill down to the restaurant to bring in food and supplies. If you ever get a chance to go down in there the restaurant has Kit Carson's saddle hanging on the wall.

Removable GooseNeck. Low trailers that are loaded from the front of the deck by detaching the gooseneck, and leaving attached to the fifth wheel. Most often used for movable equipment. Although I have not pulled one, I'd feel pretty confidant that most, if not nearly all are 48' or under.

The poster above say run it RGN, so I was confident from his post that most RGNs are 48' or shorter.

Any of them roads aren't really fun for trucks. Kind of like being in colorado. They all mostly suck. Stay on the 80.

I like going through tahoe. But by the time i hit the interstate in sacramento. I'm all antsy and ready to be off the road.
