Just for the fellow who asked where the Southwest DC was going to be and anyone else interested... Got an email today saying the new place was going to be in Mohave County, in the Bullhead City area, about an hour and a half South of Las Vegas. (Remember, you have to live within 100 miles of a DC or drop yard to work for Dot.)
Projected opening of the DC is late 2017, but they usually use a nearby drop lot until the facility is up and running, so drivers can apply and be working out of that location much earlier.speedyk Thanks this. -

I've had two phone interviews with DOT Foods. I am now scheduled for six hours of testing and interviews. I am fresh out of CDT. I've had my CDL for all of two weeks. Any helpfull insight into the DOT Foods prosses would be greatly appreciated.

DOT Foods is a supplier to broad line suppliers they have Volvo's that are automatics and have a fairly big turnpike doubles operation in Ohio and Indiana. They are based in Mt Sterling, IL and all trucks must go back to the yard for the weekend or whatever. It's not one of the take your truck with you sleeper jobs. It's all trucks back to the terminal from what I understand.

dudeman65 going with DOT Foods is the best decision you'll make in regards to choosing a trucking company.. I was hired right of training. As far as the process goes. When I was hired the test was about hr. to 1 hr. long. The actual test and answers are online. I googled it but I can't remember the name of test off hand. Maybe when the give it to you, and when they turn their back you can look it up on your phone. But don't say I told you After the test I did a pre-trip inspection and a road test followed by three interviews.. I think there was a questionnaire asking on a scale of 1 to 5 how much you value home time, honesty and other things like that... You should be fine just as long as your not coming there to pillage Training I believe is 8 weeks but you can be released sooner. I was released in 6 weeks. Or it could take longer, It just depends on how long it takes for you to pick it up.. If you're going to be a transfer driver, training may not be as extensive b/c all you'll be doing is drop and hooks and pick ups... hope this helps.
