They don't hair follicle test. The payments on a brand new truck are right around $1,200 a week including everything. The older trucks are beat to hell if you find a decent one you're lucky. You can expect a few weeks in the shop of you need something fixed before you leave. They forget to pay for loads on a regular basis, they sing you as late to pick up and deliveries even when you're early because then they only have to pay 65% instead of the 75%. You can run whatever you want unless they force you to run customer freight (celadon.) I left after their payroll screwed up for two months straight and it's been four months now and I haven't received my $1,000 that was sitting in escrow. I went in thinking everyone bad mouthing them were just the few bad apples that every company has, but no, everyone of the guys I knew from orientation have left already because of payroll and forced dispatch on their customer freight.

Yeah I'm an ex Eagle driver, now I didn't have payroll issues, but I heard some were having that problem, I had to leave due to a death in the family, they have changed a lot since Celadon took more control of what they do now whereas in the past they gave them free reign.

thanks man! I'm hoping to get on with mercer or landstar. I want to establish myself and have my own mc and company but I'm still young and have a lot to learn.

Last I heard, Mercer wasn't taking any new Quality leases, but that was supposed to change around this month, the reason was that so many Eagle drivers made a mass exodus to Mercer last year once their 90 days were up with Eagle. At that time you had to wait 90 days to move your truck over to another Quality company, so when the time came many left.

no mercer isn't going to change that anytime soon. I know because I'm moving my truck there or landstar at the end of the month. I own my truck is why they accepted me from eagle

Mercer stopped accepting the Quality fleece purchase trucks. The existing quality trucks we're allowed to stay.

Hey, hope all is going ok there at Mercer. Yeah I remember the days when we all were at Eagle last year. I went back to them last Nov. and was there until this Jan. had to leave due to a death in the family, now I am working local as a shag driver, great to get home every night.

I didn't think Eagle was around any more, having become Celadon leasing now? Be safe.
