It is a used car out of auction but in very good condition. it looks like a small rock or such nicked it on route. It was dropped of at a dealer. It is very small. you think we'd still be responsible on an open carry?

Unfortunately, If you cannot prove it was there when you accepted possession, you will probably be the paying party. That's why a THOROUGH inspection of the vehicle at time of p/u is in your best interest. The best thing these days is a camera right there on your cell phone. Always try to photo damage that clearly shows in the background that it was at the p/u location.

The vehicle is totally in your possession. That is why you are responsible. Welcome to the world of Carhaul.

I'm not saying I agree with how it is, however that is carhaul.
When Ford first started producing the Expedition, the haulaway carrier out of Michigan Truck in Wayne brought a load of Expeditions by truck to my terminal in Phoenix. They unloaded in a line out of the way. I went out to look at one for the first time. I shut the drivers door. The R/R Cargo glass (non moving) fell out of it's place and on the ground in pieces. Seemed to be an installation issue, right? Guess who paid for the glass? To the tune of $800 bucks. And, it's a brand new model...no glass available yet...it sat for weeks waiting for new glass.Karen O and wyodispatchgirl Thank this. -
The carhaul business has become "Whoreized" if you will. It started when Ford got rid of all their own logistics people and hired UPS to revolutionize the business. 16 years later, it has turned into what we have today.wyodispatchgirl Thanks this. -
