Well looks like I'm about to make it a reality I guess I'm going back to OTR just got the call confirming the details and the pay working for a small heavy haul outfit out of jacksonville 9 trucks all together but growing. from what i hear and saw at there yard they haul a lot of richie bro and other auctions equipment and quite a bit for the military pay is pretty standard for heavy haul OTR outfits here in the area 25% of the load minus permits and escorts.with my experience they want me driving a 4 axle truck one of the 2 pictured below (not sure which) and a tri-axle w/4th flip basically going from chicago iowa down to texas and everything east except for anything NYC and above unless i want to.
Im giving up a decent paying local gig but theyr'e maintenance department is a joke 3 months with out a/c in florida and no fix anytime in the future the truck is the 94 KW in my signature and it is absolutely wore out along with the lowboy that i pull that develops a new crack someone on the frame daily smh so im guessing i will not miss this company much
truck 1 that im hoping to get is a 2007 western star with a 550 kitty cat and a 18 and truck #2 is a 09 pete old ATS truck with a 72" bunk and apu and a 20k front axle on floats but in all honesty im not really a big fan of the DPF system that were in place on these trucks and i hate 1 stack trucks with a passion atleast the star car is a little more my style haha
i'll keep y'all updated on this thread as to where this goes i put in my week notice tomorrow in the am as i didn't get the confirmation call this 430 pm today on friday making sure we were good to go and all my bosses there's like 10 of them i lost count all went home at noon

People are getting snowed on this week and your complaining about no a/c. SMH
lol jk, I would be complaining too, that's a deal breaker for me.
Good luck -
Wonder if the old Ats was a lease purchase trk. someone traded in for a different trk. They were running almost 30k miles before oil changes Also ask your new boss if they changed the specs back to factory settings as Ats was famous for cutting them back

oh and I put my 1 week notice in today at work my immediate supervisor asked what they could do to make me stay i told them put my truck in to a legit outside shop to have the a/c and everything else that is wrote up fixed by the end of the week (me and maintance supervisor do NOT get a long) Also throw me an extra $2.00 an hour which is fair for the area. Nothing to drastic and my supervisor agreed it was fair but we'll see if the upper echelons agree if not saturday is my official last day and monday i start at sky heavy haul.
why me and and the maintenance supervisor don't get along you ask? i almost got him fired a few weeks ago by getting him all fired up on the company wide group e-mails when I called him out on something finally breaking after I wrote it up for 6 weeks solid that it was worn out and he lost his temper.passingthru69 Thanks this. -

Is he just trying to save the company money or just to lazy or not knowing how to fix things
Hope what ever is best for you works out -
So i guess to answer your question would be a little from column A,B,&C lol he'll fix obvious DOT writable problems but as for anything even remotley considered a creature comfort for forget about it. hell he wont replace a $15 pigtail connector so that the ramps on my trailer work. I literally have to use a set of jumper cables and now they are coming apart lmao. I had a jobsite foreman that knows me pretty well watch this debacle shake his laughed a little and asked why in the hell i was still here and that was ridiculouspassingthru69 Thanks this.
