I idle the truck before shut down before my 10 but I'm not using a stop watch lol.
Speaking of the user manual.. every dealership I've been told me most of the service info in there is BS. You know in the service manual at certain mileage it says what service is recommended. The dealerships ALL have told me not to follow that, "you don't need that done, it's just a money grab" etc.
I've at times fought to have things done the dealerships told me were unnecessary even though the book says so.

These trucks man I tell you -

The emissions trucks will break you eventually. The only solution I could see working was to get a glider. Not that it is a sure thing, but I think your chances are better.

I dont think there is anything you can do to prevent an issue with all these emissions, i hear tricks and things to maybe help prevent something catastrophic from happening, I honestly just think its luck of the draw. And thats it. Nobody, not even trained technicians have any clue what to do when a truck throws codes... They go down the list one by one playing hit or miss relying on what the computer says to fix the problem. Its a nightmare and a major disaster. While I've had no issues with mine(yet) if i could go back in time i would have continued to bank my money, and buy an old truck something 2003 and before. IMO; rolling the dice on an old truck is a better bet then these new ones.
FW, I hope everything works out for ya man... I would be bummed big time in your shoes, just keep pushin forward and if there is anything i can do you got my number.workingklasshero, freightwipper and 48Packard Thank this. -
...or as the guys at Crete used to say when I asked about a code: "drive it til it breaks". Pretty much sums it up.
Lone Ranger 13 and freightwipper Thank this. -
FW ... Been there done that. Keep a positive outlook. You will be fine.
duddie Thanks this. -
Engine can't possibly have that many miles on it I would think that would be a catastrophic failure on paccar if the motor is blown and they would have to sit there and cover a new engine... will have more than 200,000 miles on the engine if that

Where these mega fleets don't give a #### because to them they know they're all throw away trucks anyway. -
