The roads aren't THAT bad. Much better in the cold months tho. Packed snow makes for a smooth ride.

The Yukon is doing a lot of work on the Alaska Highway, but it is rough from Destruction Bay to Beaver Creek. They are grading some of the gravel stretches, but pot holes and wash board are pretty rough.
In Alaska the Tok Cutoff from Tok to Glennallen has some really bad sections as well. Looks like weight restrictions might be coming off here too.
If you take pride in your equipment you might not want to go up there, because it will take the life out of it quickly. My Western Star is covered in rock chips. It has dents in the grill surround, air cleaners, a-pillar and sleeper. The back off the sleeper looks like it has been shot with a shotgun and that is with half fenders and extra mud flaps every where.Grijon, Lone Ranger 13, Oxbow and 6 others Thank this. -

Went to a tricky little "Should I even be here?" place.
A few plants and trees were damaged in the making of this post. Expletives exclaimed by the author do not express the sentiments of, nor represent the commentary of TTR.stwik, Orangees, Highway Sailor and 9 others Thank this. -
