Can you get abandonment charges from a truck you are leasing?

    I'm tired of getting screwed over by American Truck Group. They don't hold up on their end of the deal and you just can't make money leasing their trucks because they are always breaking down. They don't pay the portion they are supposed to. I've had nothing but trouble since I got the truck. I'm really needing to get out of it and my question is can they file abandonment charges on me if I call them and tell them to come get the truck because I can't afford it anymore? I'm already out over $15k in just 2 months including truck payments, down payment and repairs.

    If you are referring to your DAC report, no. If you don't complete the rental, will it show up on your credit report as a repo? That I don't know.

    ATG has been scamming people for years.They aren't worried about your abandonment they know where the truck is located at 24/7.They will come and take your truck anytime anywhere regardless of you being under load or not from what I've read.They may strike your credit for a repossession but who knows with them.

    Yes, I was worried about it showing up on DAC report. Unfortunately, I played into their scam. I don't think it will show up as a repo on my credit tho because they don't report to the credit agency and it's a rental instead of buying. I could be wrong tho because you never know what they are going to do.

    After reading the article you know there are two gps units. Disable and milk those ######## for a year or two. They deserve it.
