Are they that hard up for fresh meat? Is the turn over that bad?

Speaking for myself only, $0.10 more on the base and I would have no reason at all to look.

I think that's the reason for the suggested fuel routing. They've lowered their standards and now hire drivers that require hand holding.

Would also explain why my DM always has her phone ringing off the hook and she has to send fleet messages saying to use the QC and that the phone is for emergencies and produce calls.

Nah, the fuel routing is specifically to get us into PFJ truck stops for the rebate skim and disregarding lower fuel prices either in the direct area or on route.

By the way, speaking of truck stops, there is a truckstop near Umatilla in Zellwood, I'm sure anyone who had picked up there has scaled at it as its the closest CAT scale. If you ever need fuel...they charge a 14 dollar processing fee just to run your EFS card.

Could be both reasons. A friend of mine that just came over was talking to a driver that had been here about three months. He was complaining about how he could never make more than $400 a week til the fuel routing began. After a few more questions, the truth finally came out. They guy would top off his tanks as soon as the gauge hit half. Didn't matter where or how much the fuel was.

The guy don't know how to plan his stops. Was refusing to learn and the only reason he is still here is because now he is given a fuel plan to follow.

Two years ago when I started here, they did not hand hold. If you required that, you weren't going to last long. And they didn't. There were 8 drivers on their way out because they couldn't hack it when I came over.

It forced me to up my game on alot of things. I refused to give up. I was determined and I learned from guys that have been successful here like @Steel Tiger and @VolvoTerry. The lack of hand holding was one of the reasons I came over here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm more than willing to help someone out or give my opinion on a question. But, if you are just going to do whatever anyway and not learn how to do something better/more effecient, then probably shouldn't be here anyway. This should be a stepping stone to full O/O and not to be a glorified company driver like elsewhere. The suggested fuel route is a form of hand holding that is not needed.

I realize that my post probably comes across as blunt, but that is the way I tend to be when speaking my opinions. It is not meant to throw anyone under the bus. Just my thoughts.

That Fueling think annoys me I wish we could Opt out of it. I had 1/4 tank leaving from Apopka Fl and it told me I could make it north of Atlanta before fueling. I know my truck and I know that I would never make it that far. I also Know that I get better MPG on Loves fuel. After Driving the same truck 2 years I know how she is.

I also talked to a guy that said he never made more then 400 bucks a week but he could not anser any questions about his MPG or even what his Net per mile was. Then of course he blamed the company. Those people are the ones that fail and blame everyone but themselves.
