Accidentally dropped engine oil bottle's cap in my diesel tank

    Hello fellas
    Just dropped engibe oil bottle's cap in my passenger side diesel tank. Is it a problem? Any suggestions?thnks

    Little bit curious how you managed that. But no. The only thing I could see being a problem is if it gets stuck up against the pickup tube. But I highly doubt that, it's either floating or sank to the bottom so you'll be fine.

    Sounds alcohol related? You need to get it out but I would not turn down a load because of it. Look for it every time you stop and grab it. May have to make a fishing tool with that KW.

    Actually i was adding motor oil during fill up of diesel... Nd tht cap just slipped out into the sea..... Dont these tanks have filter mesh before pick up tube ? Nd wht would be size of tht pick up tube??any ideas

    Seriously I wouldn't worry about it , I dropped a shop rag in my fuel tank once and its still there as far as I know .

    Let it ride!!!! Only way I could see to get it out would be to drain the tank, remove the straps, and roll it upside down till the cap falls back out the fill. Don't think it would hurt much, just wait till you have to replace the straps and remove it then.

    Thnks for all the suggestions.... Almost 60 mikes since I committed tht sin... Runs fine .... Fingers crossed
