Landstar says truck and flatbed=73%=$2.25-2.30 a mile average loaded

    Great thread! After 2+ years are you still seeing alot of 53' only? I'm getting a 48 102 spread as part of the package

    I did my app online and got a call the same day saying it was approved, I guessfor further investigation. I have to recover truck and trailer in PA, hopefully i can take orientation in Lewiston?

    Thought it might help.

    Occasionally there's a need for the 53'. Past few months they'll want it, but won't pay the supply and demand rate for it.

    I have a 53fl also……I believe there are 38 53flats at LS at the current moment….there aren't a lot of 53 only loads….some days you can get a really good rate for a 53fl. Ive had agents call and ask me to deadhead 3-400 miles to pick up a 53fl load…..

    Yes. I loaned $25 k from the bank and put $5100 down . It's down to $7k now.

    Oh no - you'll be fine with a 48. You'll like the extra 8% for your own trailer too, and being able to customize it as needed.
