Linehaul, such as with Old Dominion, you pull a set of doubles. Usually the yard man has the set of doubles ready to go, but you may at times have to help. Pull the set of doubles, for example, from Hartford,CT to Salt Lake City,UT then unhook and re-hook to another set of doubles that's waiting for you and back to Hartford,CT.

General freight, Abilene Motor Express is good because most of their freight is drop & hook. Keep in mind, I said MOST of the freight is drop & hook, which means at times there will be live load/unload. They pull dry van and reefers and run coast to coast. It's also 100% driver no-touch freight.
Most decent companies are driver no-touch freight these days. Freymiller is also.

You should consider picking a company and getting started now, then when your brother joins you, maybe you can be his trainier or at least team up sooner.

I told my brother that I won't leave him hanging here, I can suck it up. It's not that bad, plus I feel like it looks better if I stick around for a little while longer. He's done Dec 1st. How do you get home for line haul? Also, I check on there site, they're only hiring out of PA. Sooo would I drive there and stay Otr then drive home?

Linehaul, you go home after each turn.
If Old Dominion isn't hiring in your area, try some others such as Estes and whoever else is in the area.
I personally like pulling reefers and flatbeds running coast to coast. Linehaul is a great career though is you can deal with the routine, but the money is good.

That's why I'm here, OD sounds like a great place to be. I'm just wondering if your can opt to stay out. I stayed out from January to May, and really didn't mind it.

Don't know if you can stay out or not; you'll have to call and ask.

I have 3 friend teams..all are happy and making big bucks
    SLT (secure land trans)
    FedEX (critical)
Fox Run (oil field crude hauling)

I do like the LTL idea....You run truck for a 12, bro has it for a 12...secure a nice line haul run, 2200 to 2500 in each of your pockets every week...have normal life
But then again I dont know, you guys sound like sickos!!! LOL

You have to go to a terminal to apply. They don't do the online application deal. I don't know why they even have those email links. Are you near a terminal?
