Keep your head up ! You said it yourself; go apply in person. Sometimes it's better than doing it online. I got mine doing it the old fashioned way... Had to go face to face

We've had several second tenure employees. One recently quit for the second time.

I quit with my current company and went back 9 months later. There's a couple others I'd have no problem doing again. (Then there's a couple I would have a problem with.)

I think about that a lot at my job and the more I think about it there's quite a few pro's to where I work and that's why I don't really feel it would be appropriate to leave and probably going to stick it out for as long as I can. Eventually I'd like to get into transit and get off of delivery all together, but that will come in time I think. I was working with a guy on Monday who said the grass is greener on the other side from where he used to work.

I don't know if I agree with that 100% I look at it more the just money. Like where I work were a small little yard management I think is pretty cool I come in when I want get done I can go home when I'm done. When you do what your supposed to do they leave you alone, we have a pop corn making machine at the office ha-ha. You know and our rules are simple for the most part if you just do the basics show up on time and be safe get out and look. I've said this a million times on this forum it's only misery if you make it misery for the most part. I know not every truck driving job is for everybody and some of these sleeper cab companies are shady, but you know attitude can make a great big difference.

I see it at work with drivers that I work with, some have great attitudes and they get through the day fine, others have bad attitudes and there always complaining and annoying management and by the way after a while management doesn't want to hear it anymore and I know people swear that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but as @BigDon also taught us all "The squeaky is also the first one to get replaced when it's time to do the replacing."

This is the second job in this industry I've had and you never know, but hopefully won't have another for a while if ever especially now that I'm middle of the totem poll have what I feel is a better route then I had, but I bid on it fair and square and would have kept the ball buster route I had on Tuesday for a while never complained about it either just went out and got it done, it was my job and I did it. In fact I did it to such a degree management didn't even know how tough my Tuesday was until I was off of it and I'm not the fastest delivery guy out there not the slowest either, but not the fastest, heck today I was dragging a little although it didn't matter, got done very early still. Anyhow I've seen it and the guys who are always complaining management plays there game, but usually when they quit everyone in the office has had enough of them and is pretty much bye have a nice life!

I mean yeah I know some of the ways dispatch does things aren't always the greatest, but at the same time, we all have to do our part too, that's just the bottom line. It's one thing to have a job and not like it or maybe it's not your thing and if that's the case as my Grandfather would say "Hey if you don't like your job quit." I know sometimes that's easier said then done i.e. "I got bills to pay and mouths to feed and there aint nothing in this world for free." -Cage The Elephant, but you can start looking for something else.

I worked for a service management company at night for a year and did not like that job at all it was nothing agains the people who ran the joint they were fine it just wasn't me, I never really complained about it though, I just decided while I was there I was going to go back to school finished up my associates degree and then moved on to something else (that's how I got into driving beer trucks) and it all worked out in the end. After a year of working at night I got another job told the people thank you, but I am giving two weeks they said hey thanks for sticking around for a year and we parted company.

I've never really quit anywhere, where I felt I needed to go out screaming and yelling and cussing and swearing and all that jazz, I don't really know what that proves at the end of the day.

About the only thing it proves is the immaturity of the person going out. I'll admit that I quit a job one time, (in my much younger days,) by actually telling the boss to take his blankety blank grocery store and shove it up his fat blankety blank. I think I felt better for about as long as it took to get to my car. Then I felt stupid and guilty. Ah well, live and learn.

Bob Dobalina and Mike2633 Thank this.
