so I have asked this before but things have changed at both.
if you were going to start today. Co sponsored training, dry van, planning to stay at least 2 yrs, lived in WI (local to both) which would you choose and why?
Roehl offers pay while learning for CDL Millis you still pay 500 down and then get "free" training but no pay
Roehl says 1800 mi/wk once solo Millis looks like 2200 or more
Roehl is .35 / mi no bonuses Millis is .31/mi with safety bonus and mileage bonus avail
both trucks are red (LOL)
Roehl pays for physical (worries me) Millis you provide your own
Roehl has honor program Millis does not
Roehl has more fleets available Millis is dry van company or out
Roehl has pets and rider policy Millis does not
Roehl has some trucks with cameras Millis has cameras
any thoughts
Millis or Roehl

Check Schneider out. My deal was better than both. Though I paid for my school prior to starting. Also, have you applied for the gov trade training grants?
-
I like Schneider but I have heard they don't get you a lot of miles in dry van and I thought about tanker but think I would like to start in a van and then decide on other fleets and challenges later
-
Dedicated 2-2500/wk. Home time can be pretty good if you are close to parking. Good Luck.

they're big on the sleep study thing though aren't they? trying to avoid unnecessary tests if I can.

I don't have the machine so I'm not sure about it.
-
I don't either, I just don't want to get involved with a company who is profiting from driver's being put on a machine.
meaning they will test everyone and many will "need" CPAP -

Roehl National Fleet dry van.

I started with roehl, and did the standard one year. It sounds like some things have changed a bit since I was there, but based on my experience with them, I would absolutely recommend them. Where are you in Wisconsin? You may be able to get onboard with the silgan dedicated account, which is a great way to go. Easy predictable freight, good miles, and you are treated a little better than the national drivers. Nothing against Millis, I don't really know anything about them. Their trucks seem nice, but the cameras would be a major turn off for me.
Ga Dawg141 and minirack Thank this.
