Ya, cause the ten thousand people trying to get home from work that they created problems for have so much control over freight rates.

All they have done is pissed off an entire city of people that have nothing to do with what rates those trucks are getting.

Took a bit of courage to stand up for themselves in front of that many cops. Imagine what some publicity would do? Some tv discussion on the companies that work with the brokers would bring some negative image on the shippers. But In the end it is still supply and demand. We have way to many truckers in America. -And too many pulling cheap freight. I don't believe that "driver shortage" crap from the ATA or from megas. Bunch of crooks and lobbyists taking out the little guy. If there was a shortage freight rates would be insanely high. Wages would go up until more drivers enter the field and it would balance out. Face it with the economy many professionals got laid off and got into trucking. Easy transition with minimal training. So many rookie 40-50 year olds on the road that got no where else to go. Cheap labor ladies and gentlemen.

reefer loads rate from NW to east coast are down to $4000 I don't know what idiot runs for that rate. I can anderstand from east to west 4gs but north west to florida for 4 gs no thanks. that's why I been doing short hoals for last two weeks. but I gues some idiots take those loads and then go protest like those guys in florida.

Simple solution become a broker. I'm sure when your a broker you will keep as much of it as possible for yourself.

I too applaud these guys and gals, lots of people in industry always talk of strikes and shut downs but nothing ever happens. They actually did something, even if it gets only local coverage it does count for something. May raise awareness of local shippers.

Everyone on here is quick to jump in with "say no to cheap freight" credo, as if you are not guilty of doing the same at some point

    NO, Absolutely not...
    2 reasons..
1.I like to sleep well at night
2.We don't need any more parasites ruining transportation..And that is what a broker is..

Oh, Just so you know.....Brokers are NOT needed.....They provide absolutely no service to me whatsoever..Then again, I'm not Lazy And I secure things.

The Only thing a Broker is Good for is a Natural Solution to Logistical Shippers...Whom are starting to get tired of their practices also......

Speak for yourself. Cheap freight doesn't go on my wagon. No matter what. Plenty of good paying freight or here to pick from so why tie my time up on the cheap stuff.

The funny thing is, today was the first of 6 loads paying me over a grand on 220 miles. Power only and originate out of...Miami. the same place these morons are protesting.
