    Hello All,
    Can I crack like this pass inspection? The frame was previously cracked, repaired with an insert added and it cracked again.

    The only way that will pass an inspection is if the inspector is blind. And whoever repaired it like that should never use a welder again.

    @Oscar,
    I agree the repair was pretty ####ty to begin with.
    They are going to have it have it re-welded. Now once it is, would a welded (properly) frame pass with on insert in the welded area?
    Thanks
    @breadtrk-I have no idea, I bought/won it on auction.

    I can't see why it wouldn't pass with a proper repair. People stretch truck frames everyday. Only way to do that is to weld in another piece of frame.

    If that insert is not welded into the frame it will crack again because it is bolted and will move slightly. The bolts are good but it should also be welded.

    It would be no big deal to fix. I could do it in an hour. Spend a couple hindered bucks and fix it and forget it.
