@WotansVolkman did you finally decide to get off the yard and do some driving today???

 

Shutting down for the night... Light day today... Heading to Savannah to have a Fathers Day lunch with my oldest daughter and then roam on south to Florida for my 8am drop Monday.

 

Made it out of the yard last for some light driving. I will make it to Tampa in time for dinner with the family!

And that's what we all do occasionally.
And this group seems to be a good place for it.

And speaking of Fathers Day...

While on the yard yesterday there was one of our drivers and his whole family... Mom and six kids... It was obviously a family talk from dad to the kids.... Some girl in the news had something bad happen to her and he was having them watch a news story about it and using it as a "teachable moment" for his own kids... I just sat there and eavesdropped a bit and thought... Good Dad... And Mom too... Bring the kids to dad between loads so he can try to get/keep them on the straight path of life.

I didn't want to interrupt and he disappeared right after the mom and kids took off so I didn't get to tell him so I am sharing it here.

Being OTR is no excuse for abdicating ones parental responsibilities. It may be on the yard with a stranger and his puppy listening in, but take the moments as they come.

To him I say; Good Dad!!!
