This is giving me a headache. Scottie you suck and so does California. SO I am going to promise to never enter your beloved greenspace state.

I saw it happen in Ohio. US 35, they were set up in a rest area. The guy in front of meblew by, and a cruiser was after before I hit the inspection. 2 miles later, there he was, collecting his prize.

I know in Arizona on I 40 I got chased down but I was extremely lucky, only got a warning. Since then I just do not feel like risking the ticket.

A lot of morons driving cars too, and scottied67 is one of them. You do not try to control traffic. You also shouldn't just try to make people mad for the fun of it. He did both, and is a jerk for it.

I'm not sure that he "flat out lied", he brought some documents to court showing that his truck was speed limited. The judge asked the trooper if he was aware of that equipment. The trooper replied that he wasn't aware of that. I think he was smart for himself, he played the game and he won. Who am I to question his honesty in his daily life? But the rest of this thread has degenerated as frequently happens here. And Fedex drivers seem like they're waiting for the wings to pop out and turn the rig into an airplane. I see it every day, and I almost never see them pulled over.
BTW TtT, thanks for your contributions to the boards. This was not a flame job!

    My experience with Cali tickets-

Plead not guilty, post bail, and request a court date as far into the future as possible. Best case, the officer doesn't show up, case dismissed. Worst case, judge finds you guilty and fines you court costs and half the bail. Win win.

The points are what make the difference. Points don't go off your record for 3 years. Just imagine a hypothetical opportunity cost as a company driver. You could potentially lose a job opportunity because of that speeding ticket. That job opportunity could be an extra $20k a year in your pocket. Over 3 years that is $60k. Now $60k in a SP500 index fund (avg. 10% annual return) can passively turn into a million over 30 years. The worst case is you lose 1 million dollars just because of a speeding ticket. Every blimp on your record has the potential to be a big one over time, so you might as well go to court with the mentality you are fighting for a million dollars.

A long time ago I was inside an Illinois weigh station getting cited for exceeding the maximum load rating for my steer tires when one of the officers zipped out to his car and chased down a truck for illegally bypassing. He caught the driver too.

So mathematrucker, do you always do it by the numbers?
Did you miscalculate just a bit that time you got cited?
