After working there 3 years and not getting compesated for any detention or layovers i know for a fact they dont have your back. You have to drive nonstop to make revenue and if you break down they own you. For those that been here more i got to say your so ignorant, selfish, and lazy to go do your own thing. Or might be to old and retired like 60 percent of the company. Good ridence.
Lies lies lies.

After working there 3 years and not getting compesated for any detention or layovers i know for a fact they dont have your back. You have to drive nonstop to make revenue and if you break down you loose all the revenue for the miles you drove pluss the load. For those that been here more i got to say your so ignorant, selfish, and lazy to go do your own thing. Or might be to old and retired like 60 percent of the company. Good ridence. Call Dat and get your own authority. This is the best advice you will ever get.

How many threads are you going to start?

People say to go out and get your own authority as if that is a free process.

When you have a loss in business, it will cost you a certain amount of ratio of income in the near term future work to make up for that loss, but you can never get that loss back. It's gone. Water under the bridge.
Truck breaks, fix it. It's your business. So the load is lost too. Fine it's gone. Move on to another load.
I do hope that you have had a chance to set aside a percentage of your savings against days like today so you can endure the dry losses before you can roll into the good times profit again.
We don't get to say there is nothing that will break, nothing that will be lost and you sometimes will have to eat a bowl of chili instead of steak and taters etc. Sometimes when losses require it.
Hang in there, fix the #### truck, get back into it and go get loaded.
Regarding time off aka non stop trucking.
Stopping for a week cost you so much money between March 1 and October 15 (Aka chain season)
Learn to drive in the good months of the three seasons non holiday or winter. Put away as much you can ever against the coming of winter. That way you have both a cushion to fix the truck and keep going and a place to hibernate and heal with all sorts of winter time off.
Ive endured losses required me to rebuild my life from absolutely nothing several times I say this, as long you are healthy and are free with or without wife then you can go on. It does not matter what kinds of losses you have in life. You gotta pick it up and get going. Trucking is something you love. Otherwise you wont do it.
Good luck!aussiejosh, Newtrucker48 and speedyk Thank this. -
Whhooops. Must of pressed the button to much. Anyways Landstar is in the history books as a broker first company. You join you will see your pocket crumble.
-
If you were able to get a truck you can pay the 3000 for your own authority. Go for it man. Call Dat.
-
It only took you 3 years to see that you were not happy there. Lol

We live in a world Today where if anyone see's vulnerability..They will take advantage of that.
Its Really Sad.
I've Told you guys so many Times in the Past NOT to Rely On Anyone But yourself! Especially in Business.
You want to own your own Truck and run a Profitable business..You Cant Rely on existing carriers,Such as Landstar To help maximize or even Stabilise a regular profit plan.
They Don't care about You, And im getting Tired of Repeating Myself about this, Their looking out for their best interests First, You Don't Matter. Only thing that Matters to Them are their Customers and their Profit statuses
Continue Leasing your Trucks on with People then don't cry when they "use" and "abuse" your services for free.
You Wanna succeed in trucking?, You now know what to do. I don't wanna go over this again.tow614 and blairandgretchen Thank this.
