I must add that you should not drive it to a scale and request DOT to put you out of service...

Had a driver tell me he did it....
After several tickets and being put out of service he acquired so many csa points that nobody else would hire him....

I worked for PTL for nearly a year. Most of the DMs and people in management are A-holes. They give you exactly enough time to get you from Point A to Point B, and not one minute more. So any unforeseen traffic issues, road construction, flat tire or whatever, and you are late delivering. Then they get out of paying you the quarterly fuel bonus because you had a late delivery.

It finally got to the point where I would simply pick up the load and it would get there when I got it there. The customers almost never complained.

The tractors were ok while I was there, but their trailers spent more time in the shop than on the road. Pieces of old junk, for the most part.

Also, you stay out for a minimum of 3 weeks, and usually a lot longer than that. Then you have to beg for hometime, and they act like they're doing you a favor by giving it to you.

That #### thing would not turn a inch until the steering is fixed or towed away, you were bothered on your rest, you were kicked down the road with problems and loads out of your awake time.

Get a lawyer and sue them. Document this stuff while it is still fresh in your memory with log books, DOT pretrip results on that truck and number etc etc etc.

I figured there was a "good reason" the truck was abandoned at the TS to begin with.Probably avoiding Dot days by ditching it or somehow dodged the scales during inspections.Number 1 rule in trucking"Don't do Anything unsafe".Screw there load and "you're only hope OB1" bs.I wouldn't have turned a tire till everything was kosher. What happens when you wreck...it's All on you.I would have got some pictures and letter from TS mechanics about what this truck needs to be safe to drive and more than likely told PTL to "go pack sand in your ..." Been looking for a New job...with my pictures, documentation of why I quit to show my prospective new employer.I'm sure they would understand and hire ya.JMO

So did they fire you or did you quit?

And what was your response to the company puke yelling at you on the phone?

    Oh boy.

What part of you do not go onto a DOT scale do not understand? They write tickets against you just as easily as they would for a company.

In fact I never go to the scales if I can help it. I just wont. Not that Im running illegal or anything (Usually not.) it's just the liability and possibly arrest if that mouthwash you used is still present. (*To paraphrase)

I watched way too many stupid drivers get carted in handcuffs at Dumfries for this and that back in the day that is why I like US 15 so much. No more Dumfries, savvy? (South of DC, I-95)

I'm surprised PTL is still around. They were a known bottom feeder 15 years ago. Their drivers seem unprofessional and angry.

But but but....PTL is 100% employee owned! That is supposed to make EVERYTHING better! Aren't the drivers also the bosses?

That POS would've sat in the pay lot until it was fixed properly or it rusted of its frame. Furthermore, interrupting MY sleep will expose you to language that causes long term drill sergeants to back up a bit!

Piss on PTL. They are a scrap heap bottom feeder. Always have been, always will be.
