Take the cat with you. Hire on with a company that has apu's so you and cat can be comfortble during layovers and breaks.

Thanks. I'm going with Prime. All of their trucks have APUs. I'm hoping they don't require declawing because I will never do that a cat again.

I can't remember the name of the product, I saw it on an infomercial and a friend with cats bought it. It's an electronic device to declaw dogs or cats. Her cats seemed to enjoy it. The biggest benefit is you can't cut too far and it leaves a rounded nub.

I realize this thread has been around for awhile, but thought I would chime in. I know CRE allows cats, and here's how I know. Few years back, delivered to Wally World Loveland DC, CRE pulled in ahead of me, female team. They dropped and bobtailled to parking, I was right behind them, along with 5 other drivers checking in. When we all walked in the hallway, she REEKED, combination of cat urine, cat feces. Anyone that's been to Loveland knows how small that hallway is, imagine 4 or 5 drivers and her standing there, three of the drivers went up the steps until she left, and I hung back about 10 ft. It was so bad, after she walked away, the clerk told her Manager and then handed me a can of Febreeze to spray the hallway with, as they could smell her in the Receiving office. The Manager went out to talk to the driver about it, when he came back in he was gagging, he said when she opened the door to the cab, he was at ground level and the smell made him take a couple steps back, he counted three cats. I believe he called CRE and complained, a little while later I saw the driver go inside, then come back out and bobtail off the property, she came back about 90 minutes later. I was told she smelled better, so probably went down to Johnson's Corner and cleaned up.

Ask if you can have a declawed cat in the truck. If they say yes, just say thank you.
If you're ever caught with your clawed cat, say "When I asked the question, I wasn't asking about my cat!"

Sounds exactly like something I would do! I can be pretty passive-aggressive at times. I'm also a "If you don't ask you can't be told 'no.'" kind of guy.

We kept cats with a wild cat fleet with no permission needed.

Until the cat discovered how to paw the drivers window all the way down at 70 mph in our KW 600 I think it was. Not welcome or wanted behavior. We literally pulled the fuse on both windows to protect cat.

When we got home for good a month later cat displayed mental issues of boredom and not resting well, it was a truck cat for ever and ever. We adopted it out with the explict instructions to find someone who is a trucker in our area for it. It would rest and be happy like cats do on the road. But at home in peace and quiet, it did not have peace.

We were in Joplin Petro together one afternoon, we witnessed a Cat get angry to his owner on the dash because it's time to drive and it's in the way. (Sunning.) Owner grabbed a fistful of cat and it turned into claw and fang to attack driver's eyes and mouth full on. Turning him into a instant ER trauma case. Turned a big towel red in a few moments time. Pretty serious. No driving today for him.

Had a feline that adapted pretty well to my motorhome. But....I swear, I could let him roam around the various places I'd stay....but he knew when I was getting ready to pull up stakes....and the little fathead would take off on a cat-adventure for an extra day. Not good for truckin'.
