I just hope I'm never in one of Scottie's videos. Since I rarely go beyond a day's drive from central Wisconsin these days, I think I'm safe.

    Agreed.

So, going on the video, Scottie's words and a bit of assuming here's how I see the situation.

We have Scottie cruising along at 65. Seems like traffic pretty light. Other than Scottie and the idiot passing we have 4 or 5 more trucks close behind. Did I mention traffic seems pretty light?

So 6 or 7 trucks running close enough together that Scottie is concerned what will happen behind him if he slows suddenly. Again, not heavy traffic.

I see this all the time and it baffles me.

In some ways Scottie is the least guilty of any wrong doing. I don't know how long all these trucks were behind him but if they're as close together as I'm imagining every single one of them is a fool. Imagine if something bad did happen and we ended up with a crash involving 5 or 6 trucks in a light traffic situation?

The lesson is stay out of the pack, pay attention and be proactive.

If it wasn't for some of his previous video's and comments I'd give Scottie the benefit of the doubt as to having any responsibility in creating that situation but we know better.

I've never uploaded a video before so here it goes.

So for those that say Scottie is wrong, watch this and tell me how is this any different.

Ok never mind. I can't upload it, paste, or link the video, sorry.
    Can't figure it out

Perhaps you haven't read all the posts, but no one is saying that the driver in the video is in the clear and that Scottie is "wrong". What we have been saying is that there were probably things that Scottie could have done to prevent this situation.

Also, there seems to be a bit of a trend with dangerous drivers finding Scottie. Being right isn't going to help you after you are dead or in the hospital. There is no question that the other driver was reckless and careless. What we don't know is what may have preceded this video. Scottie likes to do things like set his cruise just a little below the speed limit well before a single lane construction zone which increases the likelihood that other vehicles will want to pass before their lane ends assuming that he will probably go even slower once in the single lane (that little trick got him one of his videos).

If this was Scottie's first video AND if he was open to constructive feedback on how he might be able to prevent future close calls (even if they're not his fault), I would be all over siding up with him. The problem is that he spends the entire thread like a politician stuck on a talking point defending what he did and will never accept that there might be something he could do to prevent these things.

If the video comes from youtube, just open the video up in a webpage like you do and quickly go up and highlight the entire web address in the field and hit Control C. Come back over here and hit a reply post and hit Control V.

In the case of that speeding Prime driver, I explained that i had my turn signal on expressing my intent to come over as the passing zone was ending for both of us. Prime decided to disrespect me and the traffic laws and pressed his little princess truck to its max speed. He had the choice to do that but he also had the choice to touch his brakes and fall back in line legally. Instead he saw he wasn't going to make it without affecting me to slow down or take some other evasive action. Prime knew he was in the way wrong and tried to rectify the situation by crossing over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic against traffic laws. He put himself on camera doing something very stupid. Worse yet, he got off at the very next exit at Boise City OK presumably to the Love's to discuss with his DM why his lane control apparatus had alerted back to headquarters that he was on the wrong side of not only a solid line but double solid lines. Probably faced severe discipline for that or even had his contract terminated.

Bottom line is we all have to band together to stop this bad behavior. Every time you touch your brakes for an excessive agressive speeder to get around you in a dangerous situation like that, you are rewarding them for that bad behavior and encouraging them to do it again down the road. The people I catch on cam are re-taught a lesson they learned back at 16 years old, don't do illegal things. I guarantee you these guys will not be pushing their luck in the future thanks to my lesson.

When you see my truck, call me on the CB. I promise to be polite if you don't try to run me off the road.
