Actually, the burden was on you to merge safely since it was your lane that was dropping.

What you did wrong was that you stayed in the right lane too long. You should have moved left earlier instead of allowing the other driver to aggressively block your merge. If he then wanted to pass you on the right in the amount of lane that was available, then that's on him.

That's the whole point, I don't want anyone especially an aggressive type passing me on the right and possibly freaking out and pushing me into oncoming traffic. My job is to hold that white fog line. Everyone's job behind is to recognize the end of the passing zone as indicated by the signs plus the protected double yellows on the ground which protect me from aggressive drivers passing in a diminshing lane situation.

This is were many of us disagree with you. Polite drivers will do what you just described, but the onus is still on the right lane driver in the ending lane to make the proper adjustment if there is a conflict. The left lane driver has the right of way (which does not exonerate the dangerous actions of the driver in the video).

I think most of us also find it annoying when the left lane driver traps you at the end because it is just rude. Kind of like walking in a doorway ahead of you and then stopping short leaving you standing out in the rain. But people aren't always polite.

I'm sure the other driver in your video thinks HE TAUGHT YOU A LESSON. So you both drove away thinking you showed the other one.

Yes, but you see that was on I-5 north of Sacramento. There is a section in there that is 55 for trucks. I was going about 65 and this truck tried to pass me. So I sped up a little maybe to 72 and this truck called no joy and got back behind me and I let off the go pedal and let the car cruise back down to 65. That's still 10 over the speed limit for the truck, he should be happy enough with that. If anything I did him a favor and saved him from a big ticket. Saving lives one mile at at time.

Between your ridiculous interpretation of rules, desire to 'teach' people, relentless pursuit of your 15 minutes and complete lack of effort to stay out of the fray you are truly dangerous.

I wish you the best and hope no innocents are hurt when the inevitable occurs.

    Good luck.
