Shot a rod through my block about 3 weeks ago. It was a C12, had 967k miles on it. Order a fully rebuilt engine from JSJ diesel. Came with ECM, reman head, injectors, new turbo etc. upon dropping the new engine in tonight My ABS light was on as well as my Check engine light which neither was on before the engine swap. Took the truck out on a 10 mile drive just to make sure all was well with putting it back together. 1st thing I noticed was the ABS light went out after 1 mile. Next thing I noticed was my Tachometer wasn't working. 3rd thing I noticed was my engine fan wouldn't engage manually but if I unplugged it from the firewall it would come on just not by the switch. 4th I noticed was my turbo was not boosting pass 13-15psi. Once I made it back to my garage I noticed blow by coming out if the tube. 1st question is what could be causing my tach to not work? 2ndly what is going on with my engine fan. 3rd why is my turbo not getting over 15psi and could this be the cause of the sudden blow by on a freshly overhauled engine?!?

Spend some time CK. all clamps on air cooler and the short rubber conn. for rips, you can unplug the tach. sen. and remove it to clean the face of it and reset it at the correct space from flywheel to see if that brings it back to showing rpm?

I would agree with this. @PacManTrap, I would swap the old ECM back to the new engine just to see what it do.

My old ecm was cracked from when I threw the rod through the block. So I had to rig it up. But upon doing that all my gages work now. Every problem was cleared up except the check engine light and the turbo still wouldn't make more than 15lbs of boost. Not sure what to do next besides getting the new ECM programmed to my truck and and getting dealership to pull the codes and see what's wrong. Not sure if the truck is in limp mode or what

Can't really tell with the turbo without knowing what you have. Is it a waste gate, vgt, cgt? Is it ECM controlled?

It's a waste gate turbo. Not sure if it's ECM controlled or not. The engine S/November is a 2ks and it's a 2002 motor

Sounds like the waste gate is adjusted too low. I don't believe cat would run an ECM controlled turbo in 2002.
