I love you people who know it all. He fired me for complaining. His words not mine.I was just trying to be safe and do my job. The only person to tell was him since he owned the TRUCK. I didn't mess up . Everybody has a past ,which I left there prior to starting my trucking career. Yes he knows about it . I have know him for seven years. All I wanted was to know if I had to take test since he fired me Thursday and then set up the test for four days later. I'm so glad you all are so perfect and quick to judge. Be safe out there super truckers.

Tell him to go #### himself. He fired you therefore he can't force you to take a drug test. As someone else stated hair follicle tests are not DOT mandated. Again, tell him to get ####ed. If you don't have proof that he fired you prior to him setting you up for a drug test get it. Bait him with a text. And again....tell him to #### off.

If he fired you, you have this in writing or ? If he did fire you, you no longer work for him, hence an ex-employer cannot send you for testing.

You need to CK. in with the safety dept. where the truck you drive is leased on if he has own att. you better go on down to where you did pre/emp. drug test when you started just to be on safe side, he may be trying to fix it to where you will be finished driving for good?

I think he's screwing with you. If you were fired by Swift and they told ya to come take a drug test the FOLLOWING week, what would your reply be? An O/O is no different, block/delete that mans' number and move on.

Sounds like he might have fired you without following the Motor Carrier's procedures or personnel policies. I would call the H.R. Dept at the Motor Carrier and talk to them. Sounds like he just wants to cover his butt after a bad decision. Regardless, i would go to a clinic asap and pay for a drug test out of my own pocket, then ask the Moror Carrier if they still show you as an active employee. If you were fired without just cause, you might consider getting legal advice. If your safety concerns are valid and you were wrongfully fired, then your fleet owner tried to find just cause for termination after the fact and you can prove that, you sound like a blue collar hero working for a trashy fleet.

Why would you take a test for someone you no longer work for? The phrase "go pack sand" comes to mind. I do however, like going to the carrier to advise them of the situation IF that's the way it went down. If he ordered the test THEN canned you...ahh...that might be dicey...& you'd want to do a UA unless the carrier has a policy of hair testing for all. Follicle is Not a DOT mandated or recognized test.

O/P . . . if he's buying, and you are clean, why aren't you 'flying?' If he wants to pay for you to pee in a cup, it will ONLY help your case and your future career! A one-man-show, as he seems to be, won't wanna pay for the follicle b/s.
