Agreed. Three people is very unusual. I cannot think of anything that gets three into a truck.

Delray NJ Or was it delran Anyhow... I just started to move in the blind side backing aiming for the man's building for the side lot there when I hear brakes, I saw a old lady stopping after crushing all of my triangles in her lane and was about to slam into my flat bed trailer.
I instantly slammed my foot onto the service brake locking everything up just before she hit my flatbed in the center where the two large frame rails behind the landing gear was. My trailer was at a angle enough to start tilting trying to roll over and dump the shingles onto her car which is now under my deck. My Mack got ahold of that trailer and reared up onto it;s drives pulling my steer axle 10 feet into the air at least. Hung there for a moment as it thought about committing to a roll over onto lady or something else.
It slammed me back down when the tractor won and everything came back upright.
You see, traffic was light there were 4 people in the three lanes, 3 of whom saw my trangles, saw me backing which is a routine daily morning thing for that customer to take 18 wheeler loads of this and that there in that town. This elderly lady broke the two traingles in her lane and almost hit me. It made me very angry because it is not possible for people to sit through a entire traffic light cycle to not see the traingles and me setting up to back with a giant truck and not move all the way to the left lane as they did dozens of times before that day for me.
I told Bowman Dispatch that is my last delivery to that store. No one got hit, scratched or damaged. But Im not going to expose myself, company to damages or lose my freedom because someone is so stupid as that elderly lady is.
Im glad the mack came back down the way she did and Im glad one of my rules never to take securement off a flatbed until the forklift is sticking forks into the unloading.
That is why I do not take on trucking jobs that involve backing into places like Dollar Stores off the main road wherever possible. I prefer to do my backing on private customer property, off road entirely. (And yes Ive been hit by cars not permitted to be in the dock area once or twice.) Sheesh. -
Old lady was probably blind, senile, or both. Glad it worked out for you.
Now as to three passengers in the tractor, maybe a O/O with his family with him. Or mideastern "team drivers." -
Old lady was a Marine Sargeant. She left a dead end federal employment to escape and find freedom on the road as I have. We had a ball.
No blindness or senility here. She continues to do quite well caring for others who cannot care for themselves due to alzhiemers and other really bad medical conditions that are destroying these peoples humanity in their last days. Surely I hope that does not happen to myself or you or anyone here. There are some things she does that I cannot or will not do to help people at work. And most of all she and I are happy we are OUT of the industry. -
@x1Heavy, I was referring to the old lady that almost hit you. NOT YOUR old lady. (Or are they one in the same? If so, that's a hell of a way to meet future wife!)

We went over this many times in the past at the curb when I asked reciever for people to help with traffic management. Essentially Im on my own and it's not their problem. Forgeaboutit. Typical Jersey hardasses.
So I get creative and use triangles to close lanes.
Most everyone in the road understand and move left no problem. Most of the time.
Yes Interstate is completely different. But still an accident is a accident is a accident. SOMEONE cause it somewhere. That person will be found to be preventable and charged with accident.
Now apply to myself and flatbed backing? Could I be charged with blocking traffic? Probably. Could granny be charged with breaching triangles and hitting me in severe clear weather with no other apparent issues like a medical emergency or possibly narcotics or drinking?
You tell me. That is why we have judges. -
Passed by it today. I do believe it was a CR England that was pulling the Wal-Mart trailer. I think they have the account in Apple Valley, correct me if I'm wrong.
HalpinUout Thanks this. -
Unreal -
3 people in a truck? Just south of Primm. I bet the driving team pulled over to adjust the disco lights shinning on the in cab stripper pole. Duh
