Hello everyone?
Need an advice. Never had a Stepdeck in my fleet before. Getting trailer next week. While I'm looking for new driver with flatbed or Stepdeck experience I'm trying to figure out how to pay him.
Thinking ether pay him 45 cpm or 25% of gross... Plus maybe $30-50 for tarp plus maybe $30 for extra stop... Does it sound right?
Thanks in advance ))
Average pay for stepdeck company driver?

Pay rate is dependent on what you are putting on the trailer.
If you are going to load general step deck type freight,
Most companies I am familiar with, the pay rates are
27 to 33 percent, DOE.
(OSOD usually get an extra percent)
Tarp $30.00 for short drops, $50.00 full drops. (for two tarps)
extra tarp, half the rate
Depending on work required for load, may have an extra load pay, usually $35.00 to $75.00.
Stop pay ( if tarped ) $35.00 per stop, no tarp $25.00
Accessory work $25.00 per hour. ( no idea what they bill at ) -
I wanna work there.
