You didn't say ... did you still pass ?? What do they do if it's raining.. does the DOT have a place to pull these buses into - so they can still lift the hood and do this Pre-trip run down...
Sounds the weather may be BAD on Thursday..and it's an hour drive away too.. they don't cancel it over rain, do they?

If it rains..... you get wet.

Btw if you dont have to pay if you dont pass, and IF he doesn't, look for a company that rents trucks for the sole purpose of testing. They have a few here, for less than 600 you get 3 hours before the test to get comfortable with the truck, and they know what the testers want so they drill you on it, then you test out in their truck. Hopefully you wont need to look for this option, but they exist here...

Question.. should he bring a tire pressure gauge.. he has one that is larger for big trucks? He is thinking not - but doesn't hurt to ask....

I was hoping it worked that way.. what about lightning?? He is used to working out in all sorts of weather.. but still -hope it's not a torrential down pour.. then he'll have to YELL the pre-trip...

The weather report is calling for rain ALL DAY and some lightning this Thursday am ...

ANOTHER QUESTION... from the bus garage .. on the Air brakes sheet he was given.. it says the Air pressure on the Air Pressure Gauge is at least 90 PSI... (BUT but but.. husband read elsewhere it should be 125 PSI... which is correct.. it states he has to tell examiner exactly what he is doing??

Well... I could mention my husband put together a truck years ago.. that he bought in pieces.. but that was just a '79 shortbed chevy 4x4.. it was a good deal , new parts.. but the cab was un-connected to the truck. and it needed an engine re-haul.. a friend helped him put it together......he's a pretty decent mechanic ...which has saved us tons of money over the years.. but yeah.. these Big monster trucks.. this IS all new to him !!

I did pass. Examiner deducted points because I missed some fairing damage on the truck.

90 is minimal to release brakes to check slack adjusters, 120 or so is running psi

Ah now that is not nice Iraqralph43.. come on...
It's vitally important to him.. he is not slacking in any way... he hasn't asked me to do this ether.

I LIKE to help him find answers.. I am not the one watching 20+ videos a day, going over his sheets for hours & working full time.. it's the least I can do... but Yes. it was MY idea to take the pictures..... I wanted his input on what questions he has.. he's not a forum person like me.. I love forums.. they are majorly helpful..

    scottied67 Thanks this.
