From what I understand, he had a b, and it expired, never renewed and now is retaking it. His job requires b for the equipment he drives.
Second scenario:
He never had a b, job promoted him to a position he has to drive b class vehicles. Now he's taking the test.
Third scenario:
The op is the one testing and is using multiple identities to score some insight on a test they forgot to study for. Procrastinated, and continued to not study.

I'm seriously not trying to be an arse, but come on. Vehicles are the same in and out. Some just have more components.
If you take a regular medical doctor specializing in general human surgery, your telling me they won't be able to operate on an animal in general surgery. -
This isn't rocket science, you both need to relax and read the state cdl manual, every state has one. Nothing has really changed in years, nothing other than a few maneuvers and maybe an added question but seriously.
This test is easy, it takes a few minutes and there is a sheet in almost all the cdl manuals that tell you what is going to be asked, again read the manual. -
