Truck Fleets the Back Bone of an Operation

Thank you I try to convey as much information as I can probably too much at times LOL! However you know there's a lot of depth her especially GFS they really have a lot of width and depth to them. Like I said you go on truckers report and type in Sysco or whoever doesn't matter and all you read is negative and I'm not going to lie there are things in my day to day that aggravate me trust me it's not all peaches and lollipops. Sometimes the warehouse aggravates me we have customer locations that aggregate me, but you know what a lot of that stuff is short lived and when it's over it's over and I don't bother to dwell on it or give it another thought.

As long as your not dwelling on things and letting stupid stuff ruin your day you can cut through pretty quickly. I remember reading a couple years ago about a Sysco driver who was one of the fastest at the warehouse and the biggest thing he did differently was when he came to a bad pallet he just moved the stuff and grabbed what he needed. He did stand there for a minute and go "Who would build this like this?"

You guys at Supervalue do not ever have to really readjust or break down pallets and build the occasional one because something got mixed in or something collapsed?

 

We have 4 trucks at our yard that pull doubles every night. Last I heard out of our warehouse they have 18-20 guys pulling doubles at night. We don't do triples GFS has never done triples our trailers even have a sticker on them that was put there by Great Dane that says "Do not use in triples operation." I think with the triples they do not want to bother dropping trailers at the drop lot off of the turn pike with doubles they can take them everywhere and that's what they want to that's how that goes.

I would do triples or turn pike doubles however I have to get some more doubles experience I'm waiting for a transit spot to open up one hasn't yet, but when it does I'll apply.
