Actually, it's anything BUT common sense.

I won't block traffic in general. Because I try to be a courteous driver. And i have NEVER, EVER taken 5 miles to pass another truck.

A mile? maybe two? sure. NEVER more than that. You're making up numbers here or ascribing SWIFT drivers poor driving habits to me. (And in fairness, SWIFT drivers aren't nearly as bad as you hear about.)

Well, let's see, left lane is for passing only. Not dillydallying along for 12 miles snail racing. All kinds of bad things can happen when you have two big rigs running side by side neck and neck.

The passer feels the passee must slow down for the passer's princess right of way. The passee says, hey, i'm already running the speed limit, I'm not slowing down from that so I can make my $160 extra bucks this week.

Could be a broke down car on the side of the road up ahead and passer is blocking passee from moving over safely. Plenty of stories about truckers who ran over broke down vehicles on the side.

Or what if one of you has a blowout?

Have some consideration and don't pass unless you have the power and speed to do it quick fast in a hurry.

    Lepton1 and walstib Thank this.

Running up against the governor all day is common sense? Is that what your saying? Oh and you work for Swift? I rest my case

What part of DON'T HOLD UP TRAFFIC did you FAIL to grasp?

Or are you just TRYING to start a peeing contest?

Sure, why not. Better than being a road hazard driving under speed limit, if that's the case being under gov. Odds are the one in a billion scenario you need to come up with to justify that ridiculous statement will not happen. And who can't come up with a "what if" for everything? That's not an intellectual argument.

NO, we got it right. A passer who cannot pass quick fast in a hurry is doing it wrong. Do not go around acting like a diva princess who has dominion over passing everyone must slow down for you.

"Well, let's see, left lane is for passing only. Not dillydallying along for 12 miles snail racing."

Funny, I have NEVER EVER seen 12 miles of that. Not ONCE. 5 miles, sometimes. More commonly 1 mile that FEELS like 10.

"The passer feels the passee must slow down for the passer's princess right of way. The passee says, hey, i'm already running the speed limit, I'm not slowing down from that so I can make my $160 extra bucks this week."

As I have now, REPEATEDLY said, I have no issue slowing down to let a governed truck pass me. This costs me NOTHING. It's been shown to cost me nothing. Scientifically. Repeatedly.

I will slow down EVERY time to let you pass me and stop blocking traffic.

As I ALSO stated, I will not try to pass you in heavy traffic that's all going faster than me.

So WTF is your problem exactly?

DID you even READ my post?

Yes, I read the part where you call the guy you're passing who is going the speed limit or is governed maxed out the best he can a jackwad. i read the part where you said the blame is on him as to why you are out in the fast lane holding up traffic.

That is what I call being a "Princess Passer" one who expects everyone else to bow down to them because of their more important want and desire to be in front when they in reality can only go 1-2 miles faster than the pack, only to be bogged down at the next bunny hill and it starts again with some other Princess Passer back in the pack thinking they deserve to be in front.

You must be new, 10-12m snail races are not uncommon. Sadly.

    And .5m is a 70 passing a 65, not a 65 passing a 64...
