They must be doing something right there are drivers there making money seems every bad thing i hear about PTL is from someone who was there a month and got mad cause they could not see there wife. I would like to hear from a PTL driver thats made solo and been there over 6 months. Guess there busy driving and not on the internet. Not saying this guy is lying but i just wonder what some people go in to starter companies expecting.

I'm always amazed how many rookies find this site AFTER they sign with a company.

I agree with you I don't talk about what I don't know. I only told my story and my experience I DO expect a LOW income as a beginner and in a training program but this wasn't covering even my own expenses on the road not to mention that I have a family. And my main esue was that I was lyied I repeat I drove 850 miles on my expense to get there and after the orientation I left I didn't sign anything

Considering the student base and expectations I've seen in general..... One guy said he didn't need to do a pre trip in order to drive. His ### was hauled in to speak to the head of the program.... got a good hour coming to Jesus meeting. Mind you this was week 5 of the 7 we get in the driving portion of the program lol I'm guessing he was struggling to remember everything. Just like the knowledge to get the permit.

People just don't research anything. Its I got this big dream to drive this truck, or I can drive a car what's so hard about driving those trucks. A lot of people are surprised that you have to know so much about the vehicle and its a whole other fruit basket.

Coming back tonight from the course I wondered what the washout rate is for people in their first year of trucking. Via bad employment exp, tickets, accidents. Like what percentage.

So what would have been your normal looking checks for phase 1&2 300 400 a week and what were you told 600 700 a week

Yes and from that I have to pay my taxes too but yet again it should be 2 weeks and 6 weeks but actually it's 5000 miles and 45000 miles so considering all the inconsistencies it could take a while...

Yeah there training is drawn out which is one of the reasons i have not gone there. Im a new CDL holder myself its a struggle finding a starter company that will take someone with a past thats why i had considered PTL.

I hear you about people not doing research. I didn't have the internets back when I started driving. I could only prepare myself by watching reruns of "B J and the Bear" and "18 Wheels of Justice." I'm still looking for a company that will let me bring my monkey. If I'd had the internets back then I would never have bought that stupid monkey or have watched "18 Wheels of Justice."

Back when I started you had to have a minimum of THREE MONTHS in training. Trainers had to be driving for over a year to train.
