Sometimes when I read these posts (and there are many) I want to shout "GET OFF THE INTERNET, AND START PUTTING YOUR TIME INTO FINDING A JOB", you've spent a day agreeing or disagreeing with all these posts, and you're really no closer to finding what you need - a job. Forget about the money you're owed, you may or may not ever see it. Right now it's just a waste of your time. Chinatown mentioned a bunch of companies twice, but you didn't respond to his first post, make sure you do a good job of listening, now and in the future, it will serve you well. As you apply to other companies, don't mention this fiasco, they don't want to hear it, and may get you marked as a complainer. You did say you ran around at PTL trying to get someone to listen, I understand why you did that, but you need to save your words for someone who gives a hoot. And you obviously PTL didn't care, and you might find that in many mega bottom feeder firms. Also figure out if OTR will fit your life and family, if not look for a local job. I suggest that you take a ride to the nearest truck stop, have a cup of coffee at the counter, you might find a driver willing to spend a few minutes talking with you, many outfits offer their drivers a bonus for finding new drivers, rinse and repeat as necessary. As Chinatown said ignore the "experience required" bs. Now get outta here and go find a good job, no one said it's gonna be easy. Good luck finding what you're looking for.

Did hear you say... You have a family?
.... OTR is very hard on a family
If you live in the boonies, you don't have alot of options BUT if you live near a metro area YOU should check out some local work BECAUSE you need to be close to your family EVERY DAY !!!
.... that's not easy for a rookie BUT are you willing to work hard? To be able to be with your family? ... I hope so
Swither jobs don't even need to have a cdl and you are home everyday, GET your hi lo license and work the docks at any LTL outfit
.... If you live in the sticks your best bet is to get a regional run ( home every weekend)
.... They all preach this OTR stuff to the rookies but it's just not the truth , you just have to look harder at your options " DON'T LEAVE YOUR FAMILY " the money is just not there anymore TO be on the job 24 /7 away from your loved ones , it's not worth it
.... Knock on as many doors as it takes and NEVER give up
" This is for your family's sake "
Heck you can even drive a garbage truck and make more money than any OTR driver and be home everyday and live a halfway normal life
.... Good trails to you brother take care of those babies
PS ... God is the best partner you could ever have when it comes to helping you raising your family
... Trust meFlorida Playboy, TB John and Giovany Thank this. -

Back to the PTL thing, rumor has it that an upper management person from CRST has moved to PTL and is implementing a like entry-level driver model. If this is true, it wont take PTL long to sink to a bottom feeder status.

Thought they were bottom feeders already

.... This move has destroyed many marriages, it's also devastating to children to not have the rock of home at home to be a firm platformGiovany Thanks this. -
