If that's true, then that is detestable at best. Furthermore, if this story from @Chinatown is true about their school closing, then that's addition by subtraction as far as I'm concerned.

Let me ask you this, given your background. Is it even common knowledge that the likes of a seatbelt ticket would show up in a criminal background check?

It is strange but the law makers had a hand in it. Not sure which hand but it is in a cookie jar somewhere and the reasoning was just "it's not a moving violation ".

Was at Western's "orientation" back in Jan. this year, and their school had shutdown will I was there. However, I didn't stick stick around long enough to find out if it reopened.

How is it a seatbelt ticket is not a moving violation? Your driving your car not wearing a seatbelt... you're moving.

Well, it's also possible to do that while sitting still, unlike speeding or running a red light.

Then @Jhill1981 you don't owe them anything. Unless you went through everything within the so-called "training", then they can take that $3000 and eat it. I went through the same thing with Stevens Transport. I went out and back then had a wreck April of last year. When I was dismissed, I asked about trying to set up a payment plan as I had found another job. They said they would work with me on the $5,999 plus 6% interest. I wasn't home a week and the scam artists known as Williams Rush and Associates were calling me about a "default" loan for Stevens the went from $5,999 to $8,296 I do believe. This went on until recently when I recorded one of the calls and got all of the lady's threats to me. Here's what they were: "It's like child support and it'll never go away." "We will be filing a complaint against your license with the Texas Dept. of Transportation and it'll go on you DAC report." "We will be coming to seize your license if you don't pay." The funny part is none of the addresses they had on file were correct. My response to her was: "You can do nothing to my CDL. You cannot seize my CDL because I have gone to the DPS office myself and you're out of luck. DAC is completely useless to me now so I don't see how I should feel effected by it. And also the seven years I am banned from being an OTR driver are the same seven years you'll be waiting to get that eight grand. Have a nice day." I've only received one other call and that one was recorded too. Listen to every one here @Jhill1981. And also since you didn't really receive training, I saw it here... Whoever said you have a case is right. And I would sue the living #### out of those pangean pieces of crap. Good luck and hope you find a new and BETTER driving job. That's because there are plenty.

I was told by a louisana state trooper, a seatbelt violation is not a moving violation. It is a safety restraint device, not wearing it relates to improper use of the harness, technically it has nothing to do with the operation of the vehicle other than be a strap to keep the occupant from exiting the vehicle during a crash.

Usually it's just an infraction. Not sure if it shows up in my criminal history or not, but when I applied for my pistol permit in NY, I know I didn't have to list seat-belt violations in the "have you ever been convicted of a crime" section.

Seatbelt violations are not a crime. Its a source of revenue.

Its like a sin tax on people who buy beer and cigs in NY. It is an extra fee on top of a fee. Title fees should cover any future use of seatbelts. Sales taxes should cover any use of seatbelts...and the government now punishes those with another fee for not using a sealtbelt.
