It's interesting when engines need oil to stay in them to run in well. It's hard to do that when you throw down a oil change once a month or even twice in 6 weeks under a team. Im just thankful my detroit did not drink oil over about 8000 hours or roughly we put on it that first year. What a good engine. (Alternator not so much... probably because we pulled on it with that inverter...)

X1 heavy..Im guessing your a heavy haul..Instead of doin a #### load of changes,do oul sampleing with polaris labs..Chk the health of the oil befoe you spend hard earned $$ on a change thats not likely needed...z
People seem to think oil goes bad or gets dirty..It doesnt..Oil has been in the ground brewing for millions of yrs and then tweeked by refinerys..The only thing that happens to oil is that its burnt(possible engine issues)leaked or gets over come by contaminants because the engine is not performing correctly..Testing will enlighten you to health of that engine..Bad injectors show up as fuel dilution, specific metals show specific wear on engine parts, soot show possible intake...
Crap am i wondering off topic..Forgot where i was goin with this..

We are cancer survivors going on 10 years. We learned a relative is going to surgery next tues for removal of possible cancer. They will do a biospy and a sentinel (Slicing lymph node into 10 slices to see how far cancer progressed which determines stage.) we hope that she will have it all cut out next tues and nothing in the nodes.

Im happy to hear and celebrate your company people helping you with cancer issues. My posts are general in nature from my specific experiences. I got hunted by dispatch twice in my life when I got hurt enough to be hospitalized and no driver. And both times dispatch asked about me first then truck.

Isn't that little hose that hangs down from the engine supposed to spray out excess oil onto the ground? So if you put too much in, running the truck, it will self center to the proper amount of oil by expelling the excess into the environment to save the engine.

I once over filled my engine with coolant by one gallon. I went to Phoenix it was 115* and it kept cool all day long! Its been 2 years since I filled my coolant last no worries here!

That is for crank case pressure. I think. You think I would know. But Im guessing here. You want a little pressure in that engine block but not too much.

I might have banished myself due to sheer not knowing about engines, but it's worth a shot to try and get a answer.
