Got a call today inviting me in for an interview for a road position with United Road out of the Marysville, OH terminal.
I presently work with a concrete company that allows me to be home everyday but with 15-16 hour work days wouldn't call it much home time. This position will and has made me between 75-80k. I am looking for something different. After 20 years of this kind of life style I am just plan burned out.
I have applied at all the Teamster companies and a few of the nonunion ones. United Road is the first to call me in.
So here are my questions.
-out of Marysville is the standard two weeks out a rule of thumb?
-Have seen on other threads that United pays percentage. Understand speed and efficiency will make for better paycheck but what would a first year drive expect to make?
-in all the threads I have gone through I have found nothing on United's benifits. Anyone have knowledge of what is offered for health care, 401k etc?
Thanks in advance.

Kersey, you are better off trying to find a driver who works for them. I have found most guys will bash a company they have never worked for just because they heard this and heard that. Every company has good and bad points. It's just up to you what you are willing to deal with. They may not have the best pay but may get you home whenever you want. It's all about what works for you. So unless you are talking to a driver who actually worked for the company or wasn't fired for doing something stupid. Take it with a grain of salt
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -

I see a guy parked in a paid lot from time to time but can't ever catch him there. I run bulk cement from plant to plants so I don't usually fool with truck stops etc..
Was a shot in the dark. Have a friend at Cooper and Cassen both and they think theirs is the best thing going? Just didn't want to job on one and pass up an opportunity later... -
