I can take you to parts of kentucky, Tennessee and north Carolina where that same situation would take place today.

Sounds like the pellet stove mfgs might have had a hand in that BS law. Pfft, guess I will stay here in Sissamippi, at least we can still go out and pee in the yard if we wanna.....

 

When I lived in CA I had to replace a hot water heater....... Got to the home depot, where is your permit? What permit I'm replacing my worn out hot water heater with a new one. Ok but we need the permit from the contractor before we can sell it to you.

Place I live now in Illinois, Go to the county. "I need a permit to make 3 apartments from an old office building down town. New electrical service, gas lines, plumbing, structure, windows and doors."

Well what do you need a permit for? If your not changing the footprint of the structure no permit nessasary.
