I discovered early on that the straight truck guys at our place did more "real work" than the rest of us. I didn't look forward to filling in when one of those guys was off.
One of the best things about the pace of P&D work is that the day flies by and you really feel like you accomplished something at the end of it. It's awesome when you actually enjoy your job. Congrats on the new gig with Saia!
My LTL adventure is about to begin with SAIA

Got it done and even helped the customer get it into the garage. Since his mother was there to receive it and it was supposed to rain in the next couple days, so they didnt want to leave it out. So I sawed off a couple of the posts of the framing 2x4 for the bracing to help get it in with their saw and vualah! it fit! took all of 5 minutes to get it in there.
Any ways, had a good day today. Ran another route. They want me to run the different routes just to get a taste of each and learn different customers just in case I have to cover. I didn't realize how much ground our little Lexington, KY terminal covers! We cover about 20 miles south of Cincinnati all the way down to the Tennessee line. As far east as WV state line and as far west as 10 miles from Louisville. Fairly large area for a 20 door terminal that only has maybe 12 trucks!Bob Dobalina and Mike2633 Thank this. -

Things have ever been going good. Still loving my decision. Finally got my uniforms in the mail today, so I don't look like the odd ball anymore.
I have to say I can get used to the college campus deliveries..... holy crap!!!! Got to deliver to UK and KSU within the last few work days.
Just been covering where I'm needed. Nice having a challenge of routes planning 13-20 P&D stops. We really aren't micromanaged as long as your competent at what you do consistently.
Employee appreciation tomorrow so I get to see how much "love" they show their drivers, lol.MACK E-6, 91B20H8, Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this. -
