Unplug the relay. Take a test light and check for ground on one of small wires the other small should be hot only with start button held down. We know you have power because you can jump across it. The small wire that getscpower off the button only engages it. If the harness checks goid replace tye relay. Also the button is a two wire setup. One power all the time the other when the button is down.

If the relay checks out. Your ignition switch is next.

What was the issue? I did all of the above to mine and nada. I pulled the starter tonight. Hooked the ground to the ground, power to the big power stud directly from the batteries. So, then i ran a cable off of the positive to the small positive on the solenoid. Did nothing. I even ran a jumper from big positive stud to the small terminal on soleniod and nothing. I am assuming starter is shot or am i jumping it wrong?

  6. Sounds like, starter dead. If your, jumping the power over to selinoid.

Do you,get any ignition noise? Or,motor activity? (Clicks and selinoids, activating)

It was the starter. It acted like it wanted to roll o as if batteries were dead. Pulled step cover, checked voltage and all was good. Hit the key and there was no draw on dash volt meter so I figured there was lack of contact somewhere. I pulled lower cluster cover to get at the ignition switch. Jumped that and still nada. The starter just gave out completely. Wouldn't even arc.

  8. Ya,those starters are a go no-go starter. Had one, fresh rebuild. Bench tested, died once in,was mounted to motor.
