Not only that, the company she probably works for (I'm assuming a mega carrier) will get reimbursed the money it cost them to "train her" by the federal government. That's yours and my tax dollars. In most cases, it's around $3000 so you can tack that on to the cost. It's a scam! If these companies didn't receive corporate welfare AKA "training money reimbursement" they'd probably go broke. Why do you think turnover is so high with these companies? Because it's in their best interest to keep cycling bodies, they don't want drivers to stay. If they had no need to train they would not receive their corporate welfare.

The point is are they honest about each and everything for a prospect that signs up for these schools. As usual you find these trucking companies exaggerating every aspect of trucking and their trucking schools.

It cost me $12. Went to court house told them I want a chauffeur's license. Then off into the sunset I rode!

Probably directly into the sunset. Quickest route from a to b was established that day. I do remember reading an old story about a big truck just driving straight through telephone poles, houses, fields, just directly toward destination...

    :p

I won't say what company because that is not the point of this. The point is this young lady gave her word to a company that she would work 1 year for them and they replay that loyalty by sc rewing her out of $21,000. I believe that loyalty is a two way street and any company that pays less then $50,000 per year to a trucker is not deserving of Loyalty.

We are asked to give up a lot. How many other jobs require you to be available 24 hours a day and give up family life? Tell me why a company who is getting at lease $1.50 per mile feels that the driver only deserves 28 cents per mile.
