Well, so far I'm nowhere yet, but kind of happy about it. I'm thinking in the general direction of tankers. Thought I had a teaming partner for a while, but it didn't pan out

There's plenty of opportunity to get local off the bat where I'm at. I know where I want to end up, in hotshot. I just don't know where I'll start. Will by the end of this coming week. I just passed the test today for my cdl a so I'm going to really try to hit a good company off the bat, and stay there for a while.

I went with a small flatbed company. They have vans and a few reefer trailers for the odds and ends loads. Only in my first week but its a pretty laid back atmosphere. Really enjoying it. Best part of it was I couldn't find any bad or good on the company.

Just started with Werner and I'm content. There is a lot of learning to do once you get done with school and your trainer. Lots of options here and management is very helpful.

I love us xpress. As I write this tomorrow will be my first time being more home more than a 4 hrs late. Will most likely be 12-24 hrs late. (See my paragraph farther down about night weekend dispatch they are the reason we will be late).

Granted I'm on the team side of the company. I never see less than 1100 a week unless on hometime which is around 500.

My fleet managers super cool during the week. Weekend fleet managers can't manage crap. Night Weekend (night weekend not day weekend) fleet manager treat you like garbage and flat out lie. I refuse to let the actions of a few outweigh what my normal fleet manager does for me.

I'm very pleased. But sadly here in about 3 weeks I'll be going solo. Well see how I like it with a new fm and less pay.

@Vintage Pablo where are you located? @Chinatown can give you a rundown of good companies in your area, you don't always have to start with a bottom feeder!

Since you like teaming, why not change companies and go with a coast to coast team outfit?

My first year was an eye opener, worked very hard, for 30k,and was rarely home.
Now on a JB Hunt dedicated account, pays well, treated well, and they get me home every week.
Not to mention,30k maximum payload,no more pulling beer and water,up hill..Thank You Jesus!

    Lepton1 and tanker1045 Thank this.
