Well, then I would say most people (myself included) don't have it but can learn with time.

Questions like these make me want to ride my Harley on the sidewalk.

Driving a truck with a 53 foot trailer is more like marriage. First time you forget the B. itch in back of you, you will something to sc rew up.SidewaysBentHalo and Giuseppe Ventolucci Thank this. -
Yes. It really is like riding a bike.
Give me about 15 minutes with her. And that should help me remember half of what I managed to forget and the first hour we will be settled in and rolling strong. Now to update myself on the old truckstops and haunts that have been sold off or closed to convert to fast food or such will take a little bit longer.
The backing, shifting etc is not the problem. It will likely be the 11/14 hours HOS logs vs elogs which I refuse to cotton to. Plus the driver cameras. Not for me.
Essentially all this resource, experience etc trapped in a obselete and aging mind faced with no future when I consider how drivers continue to be abused in favor of cheaply paid immigrants these days. -

I am not encouraging because I see it in a different way, if you have been out there for a few years then it should not be an issue but crap 6 months of driving is way too short of a time to learn enough.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -
Heheheh, for me it was just like riding a bike. I only had 3-4 months driving experience in late 2014 to early 2015. I just started with my new company a week ago and I had a bit of a lack of nerves at the start because of my driving test, but the second I fastened that seat belt and recognized it was go time I was shifting and down shifting like I hadn't missed a beat.

I agree, 15mins and you'll be back to driving like a 6 month experienced driver.
But take this opportunity to loose any old bad habits, and reset... almost like a second; first impression. Winter comes up quick, even on old hands. -
Riding a bike is way different than driving a truck
RedRover and Hamburger71 Thank this.
