2011 cascadia dd15, 450k
Took tuck toshop for def light flashing and turning off 3 times 2 weeks, limp mode 2 times in a week. Regen turned light off and 100%.
They quoted me over $12,000 to repair this. I declined and bobtailed back to my LP, to trade in for brand new truck.
500 miles here, no lights, no codes, drove fine.
Having second thoughts thinking they just wanted the money. I told them i think its jump the pump going or lines have a blockage.
REPAIR: 6 new injecters , one box, pump and some other stuff.
btw, this truck has only been in the shop for def related, a few harnesses later, 2 new injectors last year, new acm, new dpf 80k ago, dozer 200k told was ok....
Or should i just trad it in and get new under warranty?
Sketchy? Shop diagnosis and fix

"Most likely cause is over fueling injectors". It's true but an ATD checklist needs to be performed to find primary failed part causing SCR failure. I wonder if they didn't see the overtemp'd aftertreatment from DPFs you had replaced, since there is no mention of an overtemp code.

idk what all they did, was in shop about 6 hours and i took it in limping at 55 with light flashingso nothing shoulda cleared.

That last line stands out to me as them trying to sell parts. I'm not very experienced with DEF/SCR as I stopped wrenching on trucks around 2009 to work on equipment instead. But anyways seeing them mention smoke makes me think they should dig a little deeper first before throwing injectors in it. I believe burning coolant or burning oil can bugger up the catalyst as well can it not?
-
its due for oil change, maybe thats the smoke.
-
I don't think just cause it's due it would make it smoke. Blue smoke is fuel or oil. Most of the time fuel.
Not that they say what color it is -
I would say the urea injector is dirty along with the decomposition pipe and they just need a simple cleaning.

Headed to a new shop tomorrow for at least a new dozer. Im gonna pull the pump lines to see if the filters clogged, after i shut it off the spray sounds like its suffocating. It did have the eec61 on dash. 545 25 f1, eng 0
