No it doesn't. Some people like a nice ride and some people don't. What difference does it make? The way I see it very little one way or another. Market insight and negotiation ability determine the profits one pulls in. Good mpg's are a bonus and not something you base your "I'll make it or break it" from. Sometimes it seems though like too many people in the "I get great mpg's in my brand new truck" category are willing to accept lower paying freight because of that.

You can make money in Dry Van, if you do LTL Linehaul, Local, Expedited, Hazmat (including posion gas, class 1, and class 7) or high value freight. But if you compete with the same freight that carriers like swift or hunt haul than I doubt you can haul it cheaper since you don't have the economies of scale that they operate in. At the end of the day you only get a load if you can do it cheaper than anyone else at the right time and place.

I honestly don't understand o/o who do OTR in a classic. I just love the enormous amount of space my Volvo 770 has.
But yeah, anything with a bigger sleeper would make getting into some docks a huge problem.

    Terry270 Thanks this.

I pull a dry van with this. I'm not rich but I'm comfortable, and enjoy my ride. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone but me. Yes you can do it, as long as you are willing to work and use your head once in a while. Same as every other successful OO. (C15 6nz btw, not an emissions engine) myw9.jpg

LOL. That was funny. Actually it is my son, his picture from a few years ago in my avatar also. I don't look quite that young, being in my 60's, but I am good looking!
