So I have a question concerning the TND GPS. I am looking to purchase a GPS unit, I have done my research and determined that the 700 series is what I want. If I were to purchase a good used unit, can I still get the lifetime updates? I understand that is for the original purchaser, but is there anyway to "reset" so I can still get the lifetime updates? Thanks

depending on what the model is will determine if you will still be eligible for updates. This "lifetime" is for the support life of the unit, not your lifetime. This is an industry standard.
Thanks,

I was looking at the 730. As a side note, I was just looking at Rand website and see they have factory refurbished units available. Is this a viable option vs new?

Yes this is an option.

Specific routing?
I have the TND730. Let's say I was going from Charleston WV to Columbia SC. Then was routed south on I77 and did not want to go through the heart of Charlotte NC, but would rather take 485 around, what is the easiest way to get that route on the GPS?
Would I need to add a stop, off 485 in a suburb? Or would there be an easier way to avoid congested areas?
Thanks for your time, -
Inthedark Thanks this.

BTW.. the missing portion on the 485 is in the new maps that are being tested.
Thanks,
Mark
