    The op's question is valid, it is a way to get a truck at a test site in order to take the driving portion of the test, also you need to have taken tests and passed the written portions for the permit.

    I'm not sure what availability there is, but agricultural areas tended to have these businesses in the past.

    Private schools with DMV certified 3rd party tester will let you use the truck and give you a test. Just start calling around.

    There are numerous third party testing sites that are listed on Florida's state web site. Some rent trucks or provide for the skills test. I assume most states operate the same.

    There you can get one day instruction and practice if needed in a truck and take test next day at same facility. You must have permit before of course and be skilled Or one day won't do much for you.

    These are best suited for local drivers, landscapers, delivery, drivers coming back to the industry.
